Lisa Jo Books
The Lisa Jo character is based on the likeness and personality traits of the author, Lisa Hudson. Lisa Jo books are based on true events experienced by the author, although not all of the stories are necessarily from childhood years. The other characters involved may be based on real people known by the author, but are not intended to be an exact depiction of those people, and any comparison that can be made is strictly coincidental.
Meet Lisa Jo featuring “First Day of School” and “Words Can Hurt” is the first in what the author, Lisa Hudson, is hoping will be a series of stories about a little girl who wants to be a good friend to all, and who loves her heavenly Father with all of her heart. Lisa Jo finds out that life isn’t always easy, but she manages to get through the good times and bad, with the help of her very best friend, Charlie Boy, and through the knowledge that God Almighty is always watching out for her.
In “First Day of School”, Lisa Jo tries to comfort Charlie Boy as he fears starting a new year in the first grade. Trying to be brave, Lisa Jo tells Charlie all will be fine, yet deep inside she fears the very same thing. She has learned that other children aren’t always nice when you are a little bit different. She finds her answers through her simple, childlike prayers. “Words Can Hurt” brings Lisa Jo’s fears to a reality, and we see how she handles being teased by other children. As always, Charlie Boy is at her side.
We’re excited to introduce Meet Lisa Jo Book 2, featuring “A New Friend” and “Charlie Boy Forgives”. Lisa Jo gets to experience the joy of making a new friend, and then learns how much it hurts to potentially lose a dear friend, due to her own actions.
